The First 100!

Mom & Dad and Chris & I went to the Grand Opening celebration for the new Truett's Grill in Griffin on Wednesday afternoon. KHCS had a half day of school on Wednesday so I left as soon as I dropped my kids of at carpool. I picked Chris up from work and away we went to Griffin. We arrived there around 2:00 PM. We were numbers 29 and 30. It took a very long time for them to ever reach 100 people. It was a little traumatic for me when I realized that they needed to see my driver's license to prove that I was over 18, because I had misplaced it again (this was not a shock to anyone). I looked for it but I couldn't find it. So I was really upset, and I guess when they saw me crying they felt bad for me...anyway to make a long story short they let me in and then I later found it. Mom and Dad arrived not to long after we did. And they got their tent set up right in front of ours. It was perfect! We had a good time together. We played uno and a couple of games of trouble. :) They served us Chick-fil-A sandwiches for dinner and an ice cream party at 8:30 PM. (The ice cream was not very good, even with all the toppings I put on it, so I threw it away.) We did take a quick trip to Wal-mart, because they had the store closed and we couldn't go inside to use their restroom. (They were still putting the last minute touches on quite a few things inside.) At Wal-mart I had just enough time to also grab a skim milk, which came in handy when mom brought out the Double Stuff Oreos. :) We had to wear these wrist bands and they had these random role calls to make sure you hadn't left. I went to bed right after one of the role calls around 8 PM. Unfortunately, I was awaken by another role call at MIDNIGHT! I stumbled out of bed somehow to make my presence know and then went right back. They showed to movies on a big screen, but thanks to a pair of dad's earplugs I didn't hear a thing. I woke up at 5 AM and went to the bathroom to freshen up before the next role call. The process was kind of slow, but we got our t-shirts and 52 free combo meal coupons a little after 6 AM. I'm so glad I took off a little bit of work to come! It was so much fun that Chris is going to do it again next week, when another store opens up in Peachtree City. :)
