old cabinet renewed

Thought you might like this one: A 1930’s cabinet converted to a linen press for towels and storage for our bathroom. I added the base resizing it 12 inches and putting the mirror at eye level. Then added a bottom drawer where there was a blank, 3 shelves on the right side, and simple crown molding. I reused all the old hardware adding the knobs to the drawer.

First Week of School

Many thoughts come to my mind when I think about the first week of school:

1. First of all, I loved it. It is so amazing to think that I have my own classroom with 23 smilling faces looking at me. :) Of course, that means you have 23 mouths and 46 hands and feet that aren't always doing what they should!

2. Secondly, I am exhausted!!! I think I was definitely more tired at the end of the week than the kids were.

3. Thirdly, I realized now more than ever that teaching is a full time job. Not only do I work all day, but then I come home and prepare for the next day - and that take another two or three hours.

4. After standing on my feet all day long, all week long, pedicures are a must!!!!

5. Lastly, one of the best feelings is nowing that your colleagues and your boss think you are doing an awesome job.

I hope this shares some of the emotions and feelings I had after the first week. I'll try to keep everyone posted with new comments and pictures as the time comes. :) Thanks for asking Laura!

Rachel, hows Teaching going???

Make Your Mouth Water

Check out this excellent oreo cheesecake. I made it for Chris last night, and tonight we're going to enjoy it while we watch a movie. Well, we won't enjoy the whole thing - just a couple of pieces of it! :)

It is Finished!

Here is our finished living room! Grandma and Grandaddy have been working hard on a total makeover of this couch. From what I understand, it has been in the family for quite some time now. (Dad proposed to mom on this couch!!!) He he he. But you can't even tell because it looks so good. Also, grandma made two curtains., which made the room look complete! Thank you Grandma and Grandaddy!
Love,
Chris and Rachel
P.S. As you can tell in the first picture, our kitten, Cody, has found a new place to hangout on the couch. :)

My Classroom

Here's my classroom!!! Sarah and I have been working hard the last two days to get everything set up. My desk isn't in order yet, but besides that I only have a few last minute touches to add. I am so thankful for her help; I couldn't have done it with out her. :)
